In 2020, with Chicago's museums and cultural institutions closed by the pandemic, the City of Chicago and Mayor Lightfoot launched Hit Play Chicago: a web series giving residents virtual access to the city's museums, landmarks and cultural hubs. Each episode followed the Mayor on a guided visit, with cutdowns made for short-form social.
